WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- Water Country USA has been named one of the top water parks in the nation.
TripAdvisor recently announced the winners of their Travelers' Choice awards for Amusement Parks and Water Parks.
Winners were decided using an algorithm that took quantity and quality of reviews and ratings into account. TripAdvisor looked at that data over a 12-month period.
Water Country USA was listed at number seven on their Amusement Parks and Water Parks list, among competitors like Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park in Orlando, Florida and Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The list also considered the average costs to book a hotel near these parks, the cost of tickets for adults and children, and the months that they considered it was most affordable to plan a visit.
Universal's Island of Adventure in Orlando and Siam Park in Adeje, Spain top the charts as the best amusement parks in the world.
