NORFOLK, Va. — It was an interesting showdown in area high school baseball on Monday. A non-district clash saw an incredible pitcher's duel between Granby out of the Eastern District against Atlantic Shores out of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Both Daniel Smith (11ks, 1 BB) of the Comets and Brett Beasley (14, 2 BB) of the Seahawks combine for 24 strikeouts and just 3 walks, as the Comets came out on top on Monday afternoon 2-0.
Smith came through with a 2-run double to left that scored both Hector Rivera and Will Findlay in the home 6th. The senior also picked up the win for Granby.
