Broncos Thomas continues to inspire with football camp

Beach native, Shamarko Thomas of the Broncos wants children at his annual football camp to be encourage to go after their dreams.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Shamarko Thomas doesn't mind the busy schedule he's had this week. As soon as he wrapped up mandatory minicamp in his second season with the Denver Broncos, the former Ocean Lakes Dolphins headed back home to Virginia Beach for his 3rd annual football camp from the Sportsplex on Saturday. He wanted the campers, whose ages ranged from 8-18 to have a special day that he didn't have when he was their age. "I didn't have this type of environment NFL players teaching me the game or even touch. To be able to touch or speak to. I'm just happy that I've been able to be blessed to be in the NFL and give back to my community and with my family because this is the family that made me. Without them, I wouldn't be in the NFL."

His camp didn't disappoint. Soon Thomas will head back to work with the Broncos. So far, he's enjoying his time in the Mile High city. "This is a great team", he says. "We've got a great coaching staff. One of the greatest I've been apart of. Great group of guys and I'm definitely happy just the way the coaches brought me in and showed me the love."
