Beekman announces he's leaving UVA and declare for the 2024 NBA Draft

Reece Beekman was a 3-time all-time ACC choice as well as a 2-time defensive player of year.

University of Virginia guard Reece Beekman, who was a 4 year starter for the Cavaliers announced through social media that he's decided to forego his final year of eligibility and declare for the NBA Draft on Wednesday.

Saying, "To the fans and the Charlottesville community, your support has been a source of encouragement and motivation. I will carry with me not just the dream of playing at the highest level, but the responsibility to represent UVa with humility and passion,” Beekman wrote in a post on his Instagram account.

Beekman was a 3-time All-ACC choice and a 2-time defensive player of the year. He recorded 212 assists in his senior season, two shy of John Crotty's single-season Virginia program record.
