Va. Wesleyan golf gets the ultimate in simulators

It features a new team room and two high-performance golf simulation bays equipped with state-of-the art technology from Foresight Sports.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The sport of golf is ever changing particularly on the college level. Case in the point at the Division III Virginia Wesleyan. Marlins golf coach Tom Hall is thrilled to have the program's first ever golf simulators and his players say it's a game changer.

"For a D-III school, a small one as well, and we're able to get something this big", says freshman Juliette Coffey.

Teammate and fellow freshman Kaleigh Dean added, "Back when I was a kid you just had the golf course", she said. "You just had the range and if you're all on the range, you don't know what you're doing. You just see where the ball is going, but with this you can really see what's going on."

It features a new team room and two high-performance golf simulation bays equipped with state-of-the art technology from Foresight Sports. The two simulators were donated by Marlins alumnus Eric Nyman. One of them includes the first ever Foresight GC Falcon. It essentially could allow the team to play any other team from around the world online.

"There's a lot less thinking", says Marlins golfer Sebastien Haazer. "You don't really have to use the element of oh I need to hit front right."

For senior, Joseph Gray, they have incredible options. "The skies the limit", he said. "We've got simulators that no one else has. Where else can we go. It's just even higher."

Hall feels it gives the program something else.

"It's going to give us an opportunity to develop a culture", he says. "We can start to build that team chemistry."
