NORFOLK, Va. — Many have reported their phones are in SOS mode due to AT&T mass outages that began early Wednesday morning.

According to Down Detector, outages started ticking up around 4 a.m. and have steadily risen up until 7 a.m. when over 1200 customers reported an outage. Fortunately, reports have steadily gone down since then.

Redditors on r/ATT from across Virginia and especially in Hampton Roads reported having issues connecting to the internet.

An AT&T spokesperson says that the issue has been resolved, "We worked as quickly as possible to restore service to some customers in the coastal areas of Virginia and North Carolina whose service may have been affected this morning by an equipment failure. We apologize for the inconvenience. "
