NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A tractor-trailer overturned while taking an interstate exit ramp in Norfolk on Wednesday afternoon.
Virginia State Police said the accident happened around 1:10 p.m. The tractor-trailer was driving eastbound on I-264 when it fell on its side taking the on-ramp to westbound I-64 (inside set), spilling its load.
The driver and passenger suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries,
13News Now has received conflicting reports as to whether or not the truck's contents contained hazardous materials.
VDOT said the I-264 EB ramp to I-64 WB (inside set lanes) is closed. The I-264 WB ramp to I-64 WB was closed, but has since reopened.
As a detour, drivers should stay in the far right lanes on I-264 EB and take Exit 14B to I-64 WB.
