CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake officials said Elbow Road is open after being closed due to roadway and ice concerns.
The road reopened Thursday around 8:30 a.m.
Chesapeake Public Works crews completed pothole and surface repairs, and the roadway is free of ice.
The road was first shut down Wednesday morning due to dangerous black ice creating slippery conditions.
The damaged roadway is between 1832 Elbow Road and the Virginia Beach city line.
