Something in the Water will not be back at the end of April; future date unclear

The city council agenda said a different music festival organized by the company Audacy could take place then instead.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Something in the Water will not happen during the last week of April in Virginia Beach next year.

According to the upcoming Virginia Beach City Council agenda, the organizers told city leaders they couldn't hold the festival that weekend. Something in the Water had previously been held on the last weekend of April back in 2019 and 2023, to take the place of the unofficial "College Beach Weekend" events that had taken place in the past.

The council agenda said a different music festival organized by the company Audacy could take place then instead. Virginia Beach had previously been in talks with Audacy to hold a pop and rock music festival this fall, but those plans fell through.

The fate of Something in the Water remains unclear; the city council agenda makes no mention of a new date for Something in the Water, nor does it say if the music festival will return at all.

Virginia Beach's Resort and Advisory Committee met back in September to discuss Something in the Water's potential return and possible improvements for the event.
