Chesapeake man arrested, charged after road rage shooting, Smithfield police say

Smithfield police say they investigated a road rage incident on Wednesday in which a passenger was seen on dash cam video shooting at another vehicle.

SMITHFIELD, Va. — A man has been arrested in connection to a road rage shooting on Route 10, says police. 

Smithfield police say they investigated a road rage incident on Wednesday. A passenger was seen on a dashboard camera video shooting from the vehicle while passing by the victim's car. There were no reported injuries.

The passenger was identified as 39-year-old Michael Robinson of Chesapeake.

Smithfield police say the Suffolk Police Department found and conducted a traffic stop after a BOLO or a "be on the lookout" broadcast was issued. 

The firearm used in the road rage incident was found. Robinson was arrested and charged with several felony offenses related to the shooting. Police say he is being held without bond.
