PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man has life-threatening injuries after a shooting Sunday night in Portsmouth, police say.
Portsmouth police say they responded to a call for a shooting and car crash in the 1100 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue just before 10:40 p.m.
When officers arrived they found a man, 28-year-old Zavier Allen Johnson III, with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Johnson was taken to the hospital by medical where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police did not release any other details about the incident.
