Portsmouth Police are investigating after a woman was shot just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday near the 1800 block of Effingham Street.
According to a spokesperson, the woman sustained a non-life-threatening injury. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police provided no information regarding possible suspects or motive.
