VIRGINIA BEACH -- An iconic restaurant/club in Virginia Beach is planning to reopen at the Oceanfront on May 1, according to owner Scotty Miller.

The Jewish Mother will open in the 8,000-square foot space formerly known at Sharx on 21st Street, under Peabody's Night Club.

Miller plans to open the restaurant first and will host acoustical entertainment. The other half will eventually be used for larger shows during the off-season.

Miller says his former cooks will be dishing up long-time favorites.

The new Beach location Jewish Mother Taphouse & Deli will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu will include Boars Head meats and India Pale ales. Miller also plans to offer a late night breakfast menu.

'We are going to be here at the Beach for a long time. We're going to give it our best,' Miller told 13News Now.

The Jewish Mother was originally located on Pacific Avenue at 31st Street and moved to Hilltop in 2010.

The Hilltop location in closed in March and Miller said those who had bought tickets for shows will receive a refund by May 1.

The Jewish Mother Unplugged opened for business at 601 Prince George Street in Williamsburg last Friday and Miller says the deli is 'doing great.'
