One adult displaced after Chesapeake house fire

A fire in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake leaves one without a home Sunday.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake Fire Department and Norfolk Fire's audio-aid units received a call around 5 p.m. Sunday reporting a house fire. 

Chesapeake’s Engine 1 was on scene momentarily, locating smoke coming from the roof of the home in the 1700 block of Ohio Street, in South Norfolk.

The fire was brought under control within about 20 minutes. One resident was displaced, no one was injured. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced resident.

Fire investigators have not determined the cause of the fire at this time.
