HATTERAS, N.C. — A passenger ferry in the Outer Banks has shut down operations until further notice, officials announced Wednesday.
According to a tweet from the NC Ferry Operations, the Ocracoke Express suffered a mechanical failure, forcing all departures from Hatteras and Ocracoke to be canceled.
Officials said pre-paid passengers are being refunded.
