Admirals celebrate upcoming season with a jersey reveal party

The event happened at Rivers Casino in Portsmouth as the team gets ready to open the season on October 20th at Savannah.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Norfolk Admirals are a little more than a week from starting their ECHL season, but on Thursday night they had a special treat: they held a jersey reveal party at the Rivers Casino in Portsmouth.

Players felt it was time for a bit of a change when it came to their look.

"I like saying when you look good, you play good," said defenseman Darick Louis-Jean. "Last season it didn't go that well, like we wanted it to be. This year just having new jerseys, just like having a fresh start."

Norfolk is building more with affiliations. They've continued to build a revolving door with the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, but have also added the Winnipeg Jets and the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose.

The jersey switch is something that Admirals defenseman Carson Musser was happy with.

"This is my third season," he said. "We've had the same jerseys the last two years so I just think it's fresh blood and I think it's just a great way for a new start."

The Admirals open the season on the road at Savannah on October 20 and then their home opener is Wednesday, October 25, at Norfolk Scope versus Worcester.
