The oppressive heat and humidity is the big weather story through the weekend.
High pressure continues to dominate the southeast US. Any cooler air you would hope to bring relief is still far to the north.
Skies will be mostly to partly sunny today, and south winds will blow at 5-10 mph pushing high today back into the mid 90s. An Excessive Heat Warning will be in place today, Saturday and Sunday.
The humidity will make it feel like it is 105-110° this afternoon.
Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 90s with the heat indices expected to reach 110-115°. Skies will be mostly sunny Saturday and for much of Sunday, but there is a low risk of a stray shower or storm Sunday. Monday will be hot as well, with highs in the lower to mid 90s. But relief is coming.
A cold front will pass early Tuesday morning. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be cooler with highs in the mid 80s.
Have a great weekend and try to stay cool!
