Man injured in shooting, Hampton Police search for suspect

Hampton police search for suspects in a shooting that injured one man early Friday morning.

HAMPTON, Va. — The Hampton Police Division is searching for the suspect or suspects involved in an overnight shooting that left one man hurt. 

The shooting happened early Friday morning just after 12:30 a.m. Officers were called to a shooting in the 1st block of Triple Crown Court. 

As officers were on the way to the scene, they were notified of a walk-in gunshot victim. Police say his injury is not life-threatening. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was riding his bicycle in the area when a vehicle drove up. The victim and the suspect exchanged words, and the victim was shot once.  

Police have not shared a description of the vehicle. This incident is under investigation by the Hampton Police Major Crimes Unit.
