VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads and several local businesses came together to created "Signs of Strength," a campaign to honor and remember the victims killed in the Virginia Beach Municipal Center shooting.
Organizers said the event "demonstrates the strength and support the community has shown in response to the... shooting."
There will be 12 blank banners posted throughout Hampton Roads for the public to sign and send their message of hope, hurt, healing and strength,
Each banner will be hosted by a local business between Wednesday, June 12 to Saturday, June 15.
After the project is completed, all 12 banners will be gifted to the City of Virginia Beach.
