CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Virginia State Police responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Monday night in Chesapeake.
According to a news release, the crash happened right before 10:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 64, east of the High Rise Bridge.
An initial investigation determined that the driver of a 2012 Ducati motorcycle was in the left lane when he began to break.
He then lost control of the motorcycle, which then slid off the roadway, hitting a wall.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Sergio A. Barrios, 30, of Chesapeake.
Barrios fell off the motorcycle and was then hit by a car. He died at the scene.
No charges are pending at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation.
